The Virgin Mary ascends to heaven in body and soul, and all the materials that compose her call to mind a rose that in reality is never present. The composition opens with Artemisia and Anise — bitter herbs, the dark of earthly existence, the paradox of blackness claimed as beauty. The heart reveals Peach, Freesia, and Sandalwood — a soft, bright uplift, the body becoming light, the soul already elsewhere. The base settles into Musk, Cashmere Wood, Amber, and Vanilla — a warm, powdery embrace, velvety and intimate, the scent of assumption made tangible.
