Reading an Oud Fragrance Before You Buy
Where the oud sits in the pyramid tells you a lot. Dubai Fakhama puts it up top, so you smell it immediately, and it fades as the composition develops. Most of the others save it for the base, meaning you're waiting for it, and it's the note that lingers longest after everything else has burned off. Neither placement is better. It just changes what kind of oud experience you're actually buying.
