Wood is the family that never really goes out of style, mostly because it does not try to. Good woody perfume does not need fireworks. The Range Is the Point
Half of these lean classic: cedar, sandalwood, vetiver, done with restraint. The other half uses wood as a landing pad for something sweeter or fruitier up top. Neither approach is more "correct." Terroni and Bois d'Indonésie sit closer to tradition. Vanilla Oud and One Umbrella for Two barely qualify as woody at all until the last twenty minutes. Pick based on what you want the wood to do: carry the whole composition or just catch it on the way down.
