The 8MOTIV YouTube Analytics Integration is an internal Business Intelligence solution developed by 8Motiv LLC to retrieve, consolidate, and analyze performance data from YouTube channels owned or explicitly authorized by our company.

The application integrates the YouTube Data API v3 and YouTube Analytics API with our existing enterprise reporting infrastructure, enabling our team to monitor organic content performance, audience engagement, and channel growth.

The application is designed exclusively for authorized internal company use and is not offered as a public-facing service.

Purpose and Functionality

Our integration automates the collection and processing of YouTube analytics data to support marketing performance reporting and business decision-making.

Its primary functions include:

  • Channel Analytics: Retrieve channel information, subscriber counts, total views, video counts, and channel activity.

  • Video Performance: Monitor published videos, titles, publication dates, views, likes, comments, and available engagement metrics.

  • Audience Engagement: Analyze watch time, average view duration, average view percentage, shares, and subscriber activity.

  • Historical Reporting: Consolidate daily performance metrics for trend analysis and historical comparisons.

  • Unified Reporting: Combine YouTube organic performance with other authorized digital marketing data sources in internal dashboards.

How the Integration Works

The application follows a secure, authorization-based data processing workflow:

1. Google OAuth Authorization

An authorized owner or administrator of the YouTube channel grants access through Google's official OAuth 2.0 authorization process.

2. YouTube API Data Retrieval

Our Python-based integration retrieves authorized channel and video analytics data through the YouTube Data API v3 and YouTube Analytics API.

3. Data Processing

The retrieved information is validated, normalized, and processed through automated Python ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines.

4. Secure Data Storage

The processed data is stored in our company's private Microsoft SQL Server Data Warehouse, used for internal business reporting.

5. Business Intelligence Reporting

Authorized company personnel analyze the information through Tableau dashboards to evaluate organic content performance and marketing effectiveness.

Data Access and Permissions

The application requests only the Google and YouTube permissions necessary to retrieve authorized channel information and analytics data.

Access is limited to YouTube channels owned or explicitly authorized by 8Motiv LLC.

The application operates in read-only mode and does not automatically upload, modify, or delete videos; publish comments; manage subscriptions; or perform actions on behalf of channel owners.

Data Usage and Privacy

Information retrieved through Google and YouTube APIs is used exclusively for internal analytics, performance measurement, and reporting.

8Motiv LLC does not sell YouTube API data, use it for unauthorized advertising targeting, or provide public access to the retrieved information.

Access to stored information is restricted to authorized company personnel. Data is retained only as necessary for legitimate internal reporting purposes, subject to applicable policies and legal requirements.

The application is intended to comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use requirements, and the YouTube API Services Terms of Service.

Authorization and Access Revocation

YouTube channel owners authorize access through Google's official OAuth consent process.

Authorized users can revoke the application's access at any time through their Google Account's third-party connections settings:

If access is revoked, the application will no longer be able to retrieve new authorized data using that connection. Requests concerning previously stored data may be submitted through the contact information below.

Security and Compliance

The integration follows these security principles:
