Maurice Roucel is considered one of the best perfumers of his time and a legend in the industry. Born in Normandy and trained as a chemist at Chanel (starting 1973), he became a self-taught perfumer whose work has shaped modern perfumery. His legendary olfactory style is characterized by opulent sensuality, preference for musk, white flowers, and amber. Creator of iconic fragrances including 24 Faubourg for Hermès, Musc Ravageur, and collaborations with Frédéric Malle. Honored as Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (2011) and recipient of the Fragrance Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award (2022).
