Fragrance Discovery
From Green and Clean to Creamy and Warm
Two sides of matcha in niche perfumery: fresh, green, and botanical, or warm, creamy, and comforting.
Matcha's move from tea shop to fragrance counter is not really a surprise. Perfumery has always borrowed from the kitchen, and matcha brings something most gourmand notes cannot: a genuinely green, grassy, slightly bitter edge that cuts through sweetness instead of adding to it. In fragrance, matcha tends to show up in one of two registers. The first is fresh and clean, green, grassy, crisp, evoking the botanical, spa-like side of the leaf. The second is warmer and creamier, matcha blended with fig, wood, or milk to build something closer to a cozy latte than a garden. Both readings are legitimate, and both show up across niche perfumery depending on what a house is going for.

Milk & Matcha

Ginger, tangerine, and mandarine open it with a bright citrus lift before matcha takes over the heart alongside orange flower and mate. Vanilla bean, tonka bean, and Peru balsam close it warm and creamy. This is matcha in its softer register, less garden than latte, with the green edge still present underneath the sweetness.

Milk & Matcha Liquid Soap

The same matcha-led composition translates into a liquid soap, carrying the accord through ginger, citrus, orange flower, and mate before settling into vanilla, tonka bean, and Peru balsam. It makes the matcha profile part of a daily bath ritual rather than keeping it exclusively in fine fragrance.

Pairing the Two
Layering the soap and the fragrance together is one of the more effective ways to make a scent last through the day, since you're building the same accord twice instead of introducing something new on top of it.
Wash with the Milk & Matcha soap, then apply the EDP once you're dressed, and the matcha accord has a chance to build rather than compete with a second, unrelated scent.
